To many New Jerseyans, the Department of Health means medical assistance. But the Department’s work goes much further, and it was time residents knew it. We Are Public Health shows that public health is the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting health through organized community efforts. Unlike clinical medicine, which treats one patient at a time, public health protects entire populations, from local neighborhoods to global communities.

When information can mean the difference between life and death, one message on one medium won’t cut it. The campaign was built to pivot, in message and in medium, so the right information reaches the right residents at the right moment. Because public health is already hard at work long before anyone needs a doctor.
